Chris Lowe
Chris was born in Fullerton and raised in Placentia. He first attended Van Buren Elementary School and later gradated from Kraemer Middle School and Valencia High School. Chris has always been an active member of the community serving as a JUSA soccer coach, cultural arts commissioner, board member for the Boys and Girls Club and DARE volunteer.
Chris received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science with an emphasis in Public Administration from California State University, Fullerton. While in college, Chris served as Student Body President and was the first CSUF student appointed by the Governor to the CSU Board of Trustees, where he represented the interests of more than 260,000 California students. Chris also attended the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University and graduated from the state and local government program.
Most recently, Chris earned his Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from Chapman University in Orange.
Chris began his career in politics working for Governor Pete Wilson in the State Capitol. Serving in that capacity he was mainly focused on Business, Trade and Commerce issues and helped the Governor bring forward the class size reduction initiative and the state mentoring program. After serving in the Wilson administration, Chris ran successfully for the Placentia City Council. He then served as Mayor for two years during the city’s 75th anniversary and authored a children’s history book for 3rd graders. Chris was also appointed by the U.S. Treasury Secretary to the taxpayer citizen’s oversight panel for the IRS, where he served as the National Vice Chairman.
After serving as Mayor of Placentia, Chris started with The Walt Disney Company managing government relations for the Disneyland Resort. In 2011, Chris was given responsibility of managing all external issues related to business development for Disney’s domestic and international theme parks, resorts and vacation businesses as the Director of Global Development for Walt Disney Parks and Resorts. Chris also had the opportunity to serve on the Shanghai Disney Resort opening team, spending over 3 months in China to prepare Disney's newest resort for guest opening.
Chris plays racquetball nearly every day, and enjoys good conversations with friends and family members. He believes that making a difference is one of the most important things in life. Chris enjoys sailing, playing racquetball and spending time with his three sons. He is a resident of the City of Fullerton.
